Life on land should feel just as connected as life at sea. At Cal Poly Maritime Academy, housing and dining are set up to keep you comfortable, fueled and part of a strong campus community. From welcoming residence halls to fresh and flexible dining options, it’s easy to settle in and make the most of your time here.

Housing

Current and Incoming Students

Our residence halls are more than just a place to sleep, they’re built for connection, structure and support. With a tight-knit campus community, 24/7 access to resources and opportunities to lead right where you live, housing at Cal Maritime helps you stay grounded and ready for what’s next. Most undergraduate students are required to live on campus, though limited exemptions may apply. For more information, contact Housing and Residential Life.

If you missed the deadlines, don’t worry, returning students who did not submit a housing application by May 30 will be automatically assigned an open bedspace and applicable meal plan.

New Students

Here you'll find all the information you'll need to secure your on-campus housing space as an incoming student. Any questions? Let us know!

It all starts with the StarRez Housing Application, which is located in the housing portal (linked below). The housing portal also provides important information regarding on-campus living requirements, expected timelines as well as the requirements for off-campus petitions. It's also where you'll sign your Housing License and Dining Agreement (HLDA) and complete your roommate profile.

The next step of the application process is roommate selection. The roommate selection process will begin during the summer for incoming students, tentatively scheduled for the month of July. You'll be sent various updates and reminders as we get closer - all sent directly to your CSUM email address.

If you need assistance in navigating the StarRez Housing Application, please check out the following guides below for more information.
