Unique educational Curriculum

The Facility Engineering Technology degree is a specialized pathway for industrial engineers employed in large-scale facilities like commercial buildings, power plants and manufacturing facilities. Blending mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience, you'll focus on system operations, safety and leadership. Sea training and experience aboard Training Ship Golden Bear in addition to two co-op industry placements will add to your experience. As a graduate, you’ll earn the Certified Plant Engineer-in-Training designation.

Learn by Doing

The FET curriculum includes three 60-day practical training experiences; one sea training period aboard Training Ship Golden Bear and two industry co-operative education opportunities. The FET program also requires satisfactory completion of a qualifying examination administered by the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) to become a Certified Plant Engineer-in-Training (CPE-IT).
